Yondr Cell Phone Pouches
OHS Student Cell Phone Expectations
Dear Overland Families,
We are writing to share important news: Beginning September 3, 2024, we will be partnering with Yondr to strengthen our existing Cell Phone Expectations, making our academic school day a phone-free, academically focused environment. In alignment with Cherry Creek School District’s Policy on Student Use of Electronic Communication Devices Policy (JICJ), these expectations will promote and support the student learning experience. We believe a phone-free high school will:
- Improve academic outcomes
- Enhance student learning
- Support social-emotional health and well-being
- Build a strong sense of community
- Encourage Responsible Use
The Yondr Program employs a simple, lockable pouch that can store cell phones and other wireless devices.
Overland High School’s Daily Process:
As students Arrive to Class, they will:
- Turn their phone off.
- Place their phone inside their Yondr pouch and secure it in front of school staff.
- Store their Yondr pouch in their backpack for the day.
Students must bring their Pouch to school with them each day. Students will have access to the tool to unlock their Yondr pouch during lunch periods, in the Flex space, and at dismissal. Students arriving late or leaving early will pouch/unpouch their phones at the Security Desk (IST or OHS).

1st Offense: Parent contact, reminder of cell phone expectations, phone is locked in SSA office for the day. 2nd Offense: Parent meeting contact, reminder of cell phone expectations, and $20 replacement for damaged/lost pouch.
