The OHS Post Grad Center has over 150 college representatives from all over the country meet with interested students. The ‘reps’ meet with students in small group sessions and discuss academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and admission procedures.

Advantages of meeting with reps include the following:

• Exposure to institutions that students might not have been aware of or initially consider
• Asking specific questions about academic/social programs, campus life, or individual circumstances
• Providing both the student and admission rep a face that connects to a name- In many cases, this rep is the first reader of the students’ application

Tips for Students when meeting with Reps:

• Do your research ahead of time
• Introduce yourself
• Be attentive
• Keep cellphones and headphones in your backpack/pocket
• Ask thoughtful questions
• Say thank you

It is in your best interest to plan early for the college admission process. Consult with your school counselor once a year at a minimum to ensure that you are on track for graduation and admissions to the college/university of your choice. Naviance Succeed provides a wide range of tools to help students develop long-range course plans that not only meet graduation requirements, but also help students realize their ultimate post-secondary goal. Naviance creates and supports a college-going culture by encouraging all students to explore post-secondary education options. Students and parents are given valuable insight into the college admissions process.

Basic Application Steps

Colorado Free Application Days are a three-day period in October when students can apply to participating colleges and universities for free.

Students should be logging into Naviance account where the Post Grad team is constantly updating the Scholarships page. For help logging into Naviance or finding scholarships on Naviance, please see your Counselor or the Post Grad office.

Financial aid is money to help pay for higher education (college, career school, etc.). Financial aid can come from federal, state, school, and private sources to help students pay for their education.

To qualify for many types of aid, Seniors will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which opens on October 1. This application gives you access to these types of aid:

• Grants & Scholarships: Money you do not need to pay back
• Work-study jobs: Paid, part-time work that’s generally on campus
• Loans: Money you need to pay back, usually after you graduate

Approach to paying for college

After submitting each college and scholarship application,
stop by Post Grad to fill out a blue transcript request sheet.
The first 2 transcripts are free. Each additional transcript is $5

You can request transcripts here.
Please remember to include the address where the transcript will be sent (college, university, or your home address).
Also, include your name and graduation year.

RevTrak Online Payments
You can pay with cash or by credit card after submitting the blue transcript request sheet in Post Grad. o stop by the Overland records office in person to complete the withdrawal form.  You must have a copy of your ID with you.

In order to complete the withdrawal process you must: 

Return all technology, including your student laptop.
Return all library materials and textbooks
Settle all fines and fees owed.
Please allow for 30-60 minutes to complete the withdrawal process.

Should you need to withdraw your student from Overland, please begin the process in the IST Main Office.  

To withdraw, the student's parent or guardian will need to stop by the Overland records office in person to complete the withdrawal form.  You must have a copy of your ID with you.
