Stephen Marcos | Keynote Speaker
Marcos Stephens is the Manager of Training Programs for the Ground Systems Business Unit of Northrop Grumman Corporation's Information Systems Sector here in Denver. He is being recognized as a 2011 Black Engineer of the Year Award winner in the area of Educational Leadership. He received his award at the USBE 25th Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. a couple of weeks ago. He has also been featured in several recruiting videos for Northrop Grumman.

Clinical Manager and Nurse Practitioner at Children's Hospital Colorado | The Medical Career Collaborative (MC2 Program) at Children's Hospital Colorado is a two year program (junior and senior year) that includes field trips, workshops, trainings, volunteer work, career coaching, an internship, and college application coaching. Students are selected through a competitive application process, and if accepted, participate the fall of junior year – spring of senior year. He actually worked with Dr. Ben Carson, is currently doing research around HIV/aids prevention in urban youth, and has run pipeline programs similar to MC2 in the past. Tarik has a terrific rapport with students and a passion for building a workforce that has more people of color.

Capturing the imagination of future explorers…"Houston: We Are A Go for Exploration" takes students on a journey through the history of spacewalking. The interactive event highlights past, present, and future spacesuit technologies. Presenters share details on engineering design and testing. Participants will see future spacesuit designs that could be used to explore asteroids, the moon and Mars.
